Ormond Beach’s
Leisure Services Department was named one of the top four in the country in 2002 – and for good reason. They host several very nice special events and festivals throughout the year, including holiday celebrations, art shows and music events. With their location within the Greater Daytona Beach Metro area in Volusia County, there is always something going on, anytime of the year, either in Ormond Beach or one of the other surrounding communities. Listed below are some of the major special events you can expect to find while visiting Ormond Beach, and a few of the others within the Daytona Beach area.
Art in the Park – Ormond Beach’s annual art show, located in the Rockefeller Gardens on Riverside Drive. This event is usually held the end of April and features oils, acrylics, pottery, sculpture, basketry, photography and more.
Annual Festival of Singing – Held in Ormond Beach the end of May.
Summer Sounds – A summer concert series, every Wednesday evening through June and July. Admission is free. Come enjoy the music, dancing and good food.
Ormond Beach Performing Arts - This 650 seat community performing arts facility hosts children's theater performances, community theater productions, professional concert series, and touring theater productions throughout the year plus offers classes in the performing arts.
Annual Real McCoy/Bill McCoy International Rum & Music Festival – Located in Daytona Beach. Celebrating Daytona Beach area resident Bill McCoy, the famous Prohibition rumrunner. This event will include live music, a yacht race on the Halifax River and a street festival; an antique and hot rod car show. Located along the Riverfront Marketplace & downtown Daytona Beach.
Independence Day Celebration in Ormond Beach – Located at all four corners of the Granada Bridge. Food, music, games and fireworks, including the Jazz Matazz Annual Event which features musicians from around the world.
Freedom Festival – Located in the nearby town of DeLand. A traditional celebration of our nation’s birthday with live entertainment, food, music and fantastic fireworks display. Located at the Volusia County Fairgrounds.
Annual Central Florida Railroad Show – Usually held at the end of July in the town of DeLand. Model trains and railroad artifact show with an operating model train layout.
Ormond Beach’s Annual Senior Games – “The Elite Compete” each year in a fun competition for adults age 50 or over.
Annual Antique Car Show and Parade - Each Thanksgiving weekend, an annual show celebrates the importance of car racing in Ormond Beach with a special parade and antique car show.
Annual Home for the Holidays Parade – Ormond Beach’s annual beachside parade. A fun, nighttime parade, featuring decorated lighted boats.
Christmas Tree Lighting and Carols at the Ormond Beach City Hall Plaza – the first week of December.
Santa Land – Santa arrives in Ormond Beach in mid-December.
